How Does It Work?

At your initial appointment with one of our dentists, your dental health will be assessed, and photographic records will be taken. Additional records such as images, impressions and a video will be taken for you to view and accept before treatment begins. These records will be used to analyse the aesthetics of your face. You and your dentist will be able to form a better understanding of the relationship of the teeth, gums, lips and face in motion. Your dentist will make a determination of the appropriate approach to take.

Here’s what you can expect next:

  • Moulds will be taken of your teeth for the purpose of creating a 3D working model that the dental technician will use to craft your ideal smile.
  • A Diagnostic Wax Up, which uses the measurements and parameters outlined in the computerised Digital Smile Design, will be created. The Diagnostic Wax Up allows you to see in real-time how the aesthetics of your smile will appear.
  • Your dentist will create a mock-up of the anticipated appearance of your smile. Utilising temporary resin materials, the dentist uses the Digital Smile Design along with a wax-up to craft this model. The mock-up will be temporarily fixed to your natural teeth.
  • You may be able to go home with the mock-up to show your family and friends. If you desire, any adjustments can be made when you return to the practice.
  • Your new teeth will be created according to the final projected restorative result. To ensure that the results are to your liking or if any adjustments are needed to finish the treatment, one or more try-in procedures will be carried out.
  • For the last step, your dentist will perform the bonding procedure that affixes the ceramic materials to the tooth to restore and enhance your smile.
